The calm Opsgenie alternative for small teams
Last updated: 2026-08-06
Atlassian stopped selling Opsgenie on June 4, 2025, and turns it off on April 5, 2027 — unmigrated data will be deleted. If Opsgenie was your affordable, no-frills on-call tool, Serenbeam is the closest thing to what you actually used it for: on-call rotations, a real phone call to whoever is on duty, automatic escalation when nobody acknowledges, and a complete incident log.
It costs a flat €9-29 per month for the whole team — not per user — and sets up in minutes. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial, no card required.
The Opsgenie timeline, in plain terms
- June 4, 2025 — Atlassian ended new sales and upgrades.
- April 5, 2027 — Opsgenie and its APIs shut down; data that was not migrated is deleted.
- Atlassian's official path is Jira Service Management (or Compass). The recurring community complaint: JSM is a ticketing system with alerting bolted on — fine if you live in Jira, heavy if you just need on-call.
- Whatever you choose, export your schedules, escalation policies and incident history via the Opsgenie API well before the deadline.

Where Serenbeam fits — and where it doesn't
Serenbeam is built for one job: your clients (or your monitoring) open an incident through a private one-button link, a webhook or a shared number; Serenbeam phone-calls whoever is on duty, escalates down the list until someone acknowledges, and writes every step into a log you can show the client. Responders need no app — a normal phone is enough.
It is deliberately not a full incident-management platform. If you need deep monitoring-pipeline routing, status pages, SSO or compliance workflows, a per-seat platform like PagerDuty or ilert is the better tool. We would rather you pick right than pick us.
Migrating from Opsgenie in an afternoon
- Export schedules, escalation policies and incident history via the Opsgenie REST API (do this first; after April 5, 2027 it is gone).
- Create your rotation in Serenbeam: add responders, set the schedule, choose the escalation timeout (5 minutes by default).
- Give each client a private activation link — or a webhook for the technical ones — instead of a login.
- Place a test incident and listen to the call arrive.
- Decommission Opsgenie knowing the log now lives somewhere calm.
FAQ
Does Serenbeam have a free plan?
Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial, no credit card required. After that it is a flat €9/month (Starter, up to 5 responders) or €29/month (Team, unlimited responders).
Can my monitoring tools trigger Serenbeam like they did Opsgenie?
Yes. Every client or source gets a webhook URL — anything that can send an HTTP POST can open an incident. The difference from Opsgenie: Serenbeam is also built for non-technical clients, who trigger incidents from a one-button page instead.
What should I export from Opsgenie before April 2027?
Schedules, escalation policies and incident history, via the Opsgenie REST API. After April 5, 2027 the APIs shut down and unmigrated data is deleted.
